No, the line-up hasn't been announced yet...but I'm seeing a BIG gap in GD's touring in early August...hey we can dream can't we? When was the last time Das Hips did Edgefest? '92? Nevertheless, what does everyone think? Edgefest's popularity has really declined as of late, from a full-fledged Canadian tour, to not even being held on Canada Day! Think this year's version is going to be another, yawnfest, with bland names such as Treble Charger and Theory of a Deadman, or do you think this year could be it's revival, with big acts, and maybe even our boys??? Thoughts anyone?

I think the obsession of The Tragically Hip has posed us to make hilarious assumptions and hope for things that just will never happen. Like hip doing another summer tour, playing edgefest, doing the Stones concert. I mean they are the greatest canadian band ever but we can't expect them to play every single concert that comes up. We can dream they would, but highly unlikely. Just my 2 cents.

I second that there Hip11, the hip have lives that need to be led,children that need to be nutured,songs that need writing. I mean its great that they are doing this kelowna gig and if I was remotely in that area I'd be there. But these guys are giving us all they got, guys you got to admit, and I know that doesn't even need to be said. putting out albums every 2years,Gord giving us more with solo ventures, sometimes I wonder how they do it

Totally agree with Jamie and Summiteer, they do give us more than many other bands, but I'd still like to think they have the ability to surprise us (NYE Hammer 2002), or do shows in which they may not fit the bill (Woodstock '99). Nevertheless, I do agree, and was just throwing out a thought...what I really wanted to know was what people thought of Edgefest in general, past experiences, what people think may come of it, etc.

Always look on the brightside Beat, I mean think about it, everytime The Hip DO play near toronto, it's always some massive venue where many true fans are stuck near the back, whereas whenever The Hip come by your neck of the woods, you're guarenteed a small, intimate venue...right? Any Hip is good Hip...
