Right, and that's exactly where I differ from most guitarists I run into. I don't really care how Bobby played it; I care how I'm going to play it.

Now, you might say that's because I'm a hack, and you'd be partly right.

Hey man - what gives you satisfaction is all that matters.

And incidentally, I'm just a hack, too. I really wish i had spent my adolescent years committing myself to more to my own musical development instead of focusing on strictly on athletics, because i think my natural abilities would've yielded far greater lifelong rewards as a musician than they obviously have as an athlete.

I now agree and see what your saying to some extent. And i see how you view yourself as a different type of guitarist.

I am the same type as guitarist as you in some forms, but for maybe a different reason. The way i play a song is related to my skill. If it is too hard to play like the original, then i tend to play it "my" way.

Occasionaly i will add my own flare. Offcourse when its just me, guitar and singing, ill chord.

Don't feel bad, dude. Page can't sing a lick when he ISN'T playing, let alone while he IS playing.

I think Page's career as a vocalist began and ended when he awkwardly chirped the words "Communication Breakdown" several times into the mic at the close of the tune by the same name on Zep's first studio effort.

Day for Night has some fantastic songs for bass players. Gord Sinclair can lay down a simple bass riff that is so groovy it's not even funny. The groove is what is important. Even if you're playing only two notes and you're in a groove, that's where it is at! :thumb:
