Greatest Hits CD
#1

I stole this from the NEWSGROUP..... any truth to this?

"talked to a band member backstage recently and the hip plan to release a 4 disc "Best Of" in the next couple years, one disc will be a live
album, one disc eill be unreleased tracks, and the remaining two discs
will be singles...im looking forward to the live stuff and the
unreleased stuff but i coould go without the "best of" part with all of
their "hits"........."

I hope so...it sounds really cool, if done right.

Also, did anyone else start humming 50-Mission Cap after reading thecompletist's first sentence?

Wow, I can't wait for that.
I hope they don't take time off until that is released.

I need 2 Kingston Tickets, please help.

I read that too, but I'm kinda lukewarm about it. I suppose the live and unreleased stuff would be cool, but I don't really want a GH CD since I already have everything they've done, as I'm sure most of you do too.

well if they do it, lets just hope it comes in two parts sold separately.

I've got everything they've done as well, but wouln't mind to have to buy the whole set just to obtain the unreleased stuff.....

I agree, I have many unreleased songs burnt to CD... but "Soundboard" copies are what I want. I am sure there maybe one or two we don't know about either. A greatest Hits is great for a party too when you have a chunk of people who aren't as Hardcore as us...

This seems unlikely to me. To my understanding, sales of Hip albums are on the decline, and a package such as this would be too disjointed to appeal to a large enough audience.

You've got the hard core fans who would love to get there hands on the two cd's of rare stuff but may be unwilling to pay $60 or $70 for a package that includes two cd's of material they already own. Conversely you'll end up with casual fans who might be very willing to buy a one or two cd set of 'hits' material, but aren't going to want to shell out for a bunch of 'rejected' material.

I could see these items being released seperately, but not all together.

Not at all! That is one thing I love about the hip, there is not one song i could LEAVE out. I mean there are songs that don't STAY in the live performances, but not having one might turn some fans into SHARKS. I think I would just take that idea, and PUT IT OFF.

I hope that instead of a 'greatest hits' set...they release a double live or something along that nature. And a DVD Smile
