Where is IBE on the radio???
#1

I live in the Buffalo area, and haven't had a chance to pick up the album yet, so I was hoping to catch some of it on the radio, but though I've been flipping back and forth between the Canadian stations and the one or two Buffalo stations that play the Hip, I have heard absolutely nothing since the album came out.

I heard some of "Vaccination Scar" on 97.7 once, but that was before the album came out. What is going on? Typically, a new Hip album comes out and it's all over the Canadian stations at least. Granted, I think "Vaccination Scar" is a very "meh" song, so if that was supposed to be the 'radio single', then it wouldn't surprise me that I haven't heard that but once, but regardless, they should be playing some of the other cuts, too.

I mean, it's not that I'm listening day and night... I have a half hour drive into work and back, and I tune in during my lunch hour, but even so, I should have heard something by now, eh?

Edge 102.1's morning show seems to play Vaccination Scar every morning and I usually hear it on my home from work too (between 5 and 6:30... I know, a long commute). If Edge doesn't reach you (it comes from Toronto), you can hear them online too at www.edge.ca.

BTW, you're right... VS is the first single

Well, I hear ya Sad Q107 Toronto is not playing New Hip either..
I asked about *In Violet Light* last night.. and only have heard 3 songs today..
50 Mission Cap
Locked In The Trunk of A Car
38 Years Old..

So depressing.. I hear nothing about The Hip anymore.. It was so nice to go to Sarnia Bayfest.. I actually met girls maybe a little older than I..why they have Rock Radio that pleases everyone.. no stupid corporate splits..

RADIO SUCKS IN TORONTO.. ROCK IS DIEING..

Deep Purple Tickets aren't selling nor are The Doors nor are Alice Cooper..
Clubs are in a lot of cases not even half full.. so sad.. such a rocking city Toronto use to be.. I was around and heard *Small Town Bringdown* the first time it was played on the radio here in Toronto.. and look where we are today.. Tongue

Cheers! 8)

Hmm, so in a sense I'm not just imagining that. Yikes. What about 97.7?

But I do have to question VS as the first single. I've listened to it many times now at the Hip's website and it just seems mediocre at best. Not very memorable or interesting. Hopefully, the rest of the album is much better than that. But by comparison, I thought "It's a Good Life..." was a great first track, but then was disappointed by much of the rest of IVL. Oh well... In any case, I'd like to turn on the radio and hear more of the new album. I miss that!

Greatest radio station ever. During the last week, I heard Killer Whale New O, LBU Springtime and all three singles from IBE. I REALLY miss Southern Ontario radio while I'm living in Ottawa.

And even though Q107 plays "classic" rock now, I still get enough Hip when I tune in.

And Q107 listeners don't know The Tragically Hip just released a new cd called *In Between Evolution*.. I wore my IBE Tshirt on purpose when I went to see Chilliwack on last Friday night.. A few asked about my shirt.. and didn't know.. and didn't know The Tragically Hip played The Molson Amphitheatre either.. There was no advertising for this show on Q107 other than the Deck Party.. I saw a topic for album sales.. not so good.. I am not surprised.. Toronto Rock is such a mess right now..

And bud.. *Vaccination Scar* is a really great song.. as a matter of fact there isn't really one song on *In Between Evolution* I don't like.. The whole cd is really good.. and I have seen (heard) pretty all of it live, now too..

Cheers! 8)

That really is too bad. 103.3 is turning into another 98.5. Its new rock instead of pop for the kiddies. That station fell of the map years ago. The only reason I'm a cyberclub member is to get in on tickets early.

As much as I like classic rock, I'm even getting sick of 92.9. It gets boring to hear the same rotation of Ozzy/Zeppelin/AC/DC songs.

Okay, for you. For me, it's got a great rhythm and energy at the beginning, and does nothing at all for me after that. Meandering vocal line, and just not memorable in the way that most Hip tunes are (even the 'album tracks'). Oh, well...

I heard "new" Rush (The Seeker) on Q107 last night, but I suppose that still qualifies as "classic rock" for them by virtue of being a cover of an oldie. I've been focused mainly on 97.7 but still haven't heard one lick of IBE since hearing VS once weeks ago. I agree, though, it is a great station!

Heard Q107 play "Poets" last night. That's considered "classic rock"? Maybe in style (very Stones), but that's still pretty recent as the Hip goes. But they won't spin anything from the new album?? Harumph!!

there is no way that its a good life.... was a good opening single. Its a good song but cmon...vaccination scar is 100X better.

As for the state of rock in Toronto and no IBE tunes being played, vaccination scar was #4 on 102.1 the edge and i live between london and toronto and if i rotate between 102.1, 95.9(london), 107.9(Hamilton), 107.1, 97.7 and god forbid 105.3 you can basically hear a different hip tune every half hour at least.

Vaccination scar is getting played to death on the edge.

I don't know what radio stations you guys are listening to.
