Wasaga
#1

So... I know there's a bunch here going... but does anybody know there was around Wasaga Beach at all? Where exactly is this concert?

I keep seeing Beach Area #1 or something like that, but that doesn't mean to much to me, and doesn't come up on mapquest (kidding)... Help? Anybody?

And how many people can the beach fit?

I have a feeling that parking is going to be a bitch. I don't know how many tickets were sold for the show, but on a normal nice weekend parking and traffic are crazy. I called the Wasaga Chamber of Commerce to ask if there were going to be lots set up or shuttle buses, and they said no. They told me that there is parking in the provincial park area at Beach Areas #1 & 2, but that it was $15 to enter. Or that there would be municipal lots, but that you would have to run out and keep feeding the meter.

Here's a map of the beach areas:

And a link to street maps of Wasaga:

I hope traffic isn't as nuts as it was for ARA in Markham in 95. I don't think there will be quite as many people at Wasaga, but I have a feeling traffic is going to be almost as bad.

The municipal lots are all (I would hope by now anyway) "pay and display," so you can just drop five Two-nies and not have to worry about feeding the meter. I believe the only meters left are along the roads, which may or may not apply on a Sunday...

It's because of that traffic that I can't go to the concert, argggggh. Working the nightshift on Sunday and can't be sure of anything. I'm expecting details, so i can recreate the concert in my mind!

It's Molson Indy here in Toronto.. so there are lots of happenings in Toronto.. Me too, I am wondering about, if it will be a big crowd.. as in last week of June.. the people (locals) in Wasaga didn't know The Hip were playing  I was looking for info..

Probably Beach Area 2.. would be the best place to park.. yeah.. we have to swallow the $15 parking charge.. :?

I think this should be a fun event.. on Thursday night.. I was talking a young feller from Molson Canadian Rocks.. who is charge of Beach Volleyball.. lots of stuff happening

Cheers! 8)

Re: ARA Markham 95

I thought I had a good parking spot, and it took two hours to get out of the parking lot, I was about 3 football field lengths from the gate, unbeleivable. That was my worst parking nightmare ever, I doubt and hope nothing ever comes close to that! Enjoy Wasaga everone!
