COURTCLIFFE PARK JULY 6TH, 1991 ANYONE THERE??
#1

I was thinking back to my first hip show at courtcliffe park back in 1991.
it was a three day camping party and bands played the last two nights.
over 30,000 people came. the port-o-potties were filled to the brim and the partying was out of control. the hip were fabulous and the night ended with the most spectacular thunder and lightning i had ever seen. the next day the campground was flooded as people made there way out of the campground fried brains and all. anybody else see that one?? 8)

I wish......

I will not give up. My face is set,my gait is fast,my goal is heaven,my road is narrow,my way is rough,my companions are few,my guide is reliable,my mission is clear. I cannot be bought, compromised, detoured, lured away, turned back, diluted or delayed. I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the presence of adversity, negotiate at the table of the enemy, ponder at the pool of popularity,or meander in the maze of mediocrity. I will not give up,shut up or slow down....Blessed Be!

Wow! Very Woodstock (Max Yasger's of course, none-a-that stinkin' 90's junk) Sounds fantastic. And thanks for the port-a-crapper visuals, splendid.

Did they do any covers or rare stuff then? In '91 there musta been some gems?

yeah, very woodstocky. the first night i wake up and two people are "laying pipe" on the hood of my truck. too bad she wasn't good looking. as for the setlist. i really dont remember but when they played "on the verge' gord looked really troll like. he still had the long hair. i was too busy with all the girls around me. ahhh...the roaring
nineties. i wish i had all those brain cells back.

I woulda been 11 years old then: Hulk Hogan, Mario Lemieux and that smarmy little mutt from Nintendo's "Duck Hunt" were my main concerns then.

They were screwing on your truck!? Smile Wow... I have REALLY gotta get back to Buffalo.

But see THAT sounds like a show, I'm kinda sorry I missed the raw early days...

that show was at a campground about a half hour past hamilton going towards toronto. the girl involved in the "laying pipe" incident was with a friend of mine. the next day she introduced us to her husband.
ahhhh.....the free love of the nineties. if i know now what i knew then i wouldn't have been payin. gord was different back then. you got the idea he was crazy. its been fun watching the evolution of gord as a performer. the last one is always the best..........i cant wait till next month.
