The 2000 version is also the best one I have. The studio version I have from 1990 is probably the same as yours... very hissy sounding.

LBU was the 3rd hip album I owned (after DFN and PP). I saw my first live show when PP was released and was hooked on their live show. Other than the radio this is how I really got to know Fully, Twist, Courage, NOIS, Blow. Have always preferred them to the studio versions.
Like many have mentioned, I catch my self singing the LBU versions even when I hear the studio ones.
Surprised their isn't more love for this album (or universal love). Great performances of Grace, Twist, Courage, NOIS, Scared, Nautical, Blow.
ABAC is the best version I have ever heard and the intro by Gord is classic.
What really stands out for me is Don't Wake Daddy, one of my favourite, and I think best, performances I've heard from the Gord and the Hip. Gord sounds great, restrained in the beginning but wide open by the end, but never over the line. And there is a slow build of growing intensity throughout the whole song.

I uploaded the `Locked' LBU outtake a few days ago, and it was instantly blocked. I tried, but I suspect all the outtakes are no-go's. According to setlist fm, it was a 22 song show, so there's more `out there' for sure.

This is not my favourite show however, like many, this was my first introduction to live Hip. There is plenty of magic for me in during the show; some are very much tied to how I think about the song.
The sound is good and the extras are part of what led me to fall in love with the band. They not only sound good live but also have interesting bits and pieces in the live show.
From here, I taped the first two Hip shows I went to (Feb 99 in Halifax) and then started trading shows and discovered the real magic of their lives shows.
So, while I might have gone in a different direction if I were them, I love this show and am happy to have heard it many times over the years.
