Highly doubt it. The band garner a nomination or two most years they release a record. Plus, rock album of the year performers don't exactly equal high television ratings.

The Juno nominees always leave me feeling a little confused... after looking more closely at them I have to ask:
How is Rod Stewart's Christmas album up for international album of the year? and How did Mother Mother not get recognized? :what

Makes me happy that three bands I like are up for Rock Album of the Year. Rush, The Hip and The Sheepdogs.

It will be Sheepdogs IMO I think they are trying to sell new Canadian bands and Rush and Hip don't fit that bill unfortunately...

want to be a nobody without peer
want to be a thought that's never done
want to shake your faith in human nature
want to break the hearts of everyone
want to be your wheezing screen door
want to be your stars of Algonquin
want to be your roaring floorboard
want to break the hearts of everyone

I thought the Junos were mostly based on album sales...
Which means we can figure out whose already won, and with the dismal numbers I saw Now For Plan A put up upon its release, I doubt it will be The Hip.
I hope I'm wrong, because award shows should not be based on sales... Unless its a sales award etc...

The last time I actually tuned in for the Junos was 2005, and that was only to see the Hip inducted into the hall of fame.

'Now for Plan A' went gold in January — recording 40,000 units.

Neither Big Wreck's 'Albatross' or Billy Talent's 'Dead Silence' have achieved Gold. Nor has Rush's 'Clockwork Angels'

From what I can tell from Music Canada — The Sheepdogs hasn't gone Gold.

'Now for Plan A' is the top-seller in this category — I believe.

That's based on CD sales.
