Europe
#1

Hallo folks,

the album 'We are the same' is not released here in the Netherlands.
That was not a problem i've bought it on the internet (MapleMusic).
Now i am curious. Are they coming to Europe to give some concerts?

Can anyony fill me in?

Thanks in advance,

Herman

true enough!

On a serious note Herman, we're all hoping, but I'm sure you'll see it on here the moment a date is announced. Hopefully some of the guys will be coming across again, if so I may even venture to one or two of the European shows myself.

The word on Friday, before the Music Hall show, was that a EuroHip Tour was just about finalized - and it would be more extensive than previous ventures.

I've run it by my wife and she said I can go... as long as she comes along. Works for me!

That's great news, thanks Chris. Hopefully it includes Paris...However, history suggests that their best performances have been at the Paradiso, I'll probably try to hook that up too.

The Hip seem to be very popular in The Netherlands, so when they do come over there's usually a good few shows there.

I'll be at as many as possible - that might not be too many though, sadly, as I am "sans job" at the moment. Sad I'll definitely hit the London one (which I assume there will be one).

There is a two week free gap in July and nearly a months gap in August in the schedule that could be used for euro dates.
Here's hoping we hear soon. Smile

I doubt it will be July as theres bot enough tine to do promo or get advertising out for then, even august would be pushing it as the summer is a bit of a dull time for gigs due to people being on holiday and bands all touring round the festivals.

Yeah - was looking at the schedule and thinking it would be October for any Euro dates. Which is great as far as I am concerned as summer is getting very busy already!

So, I think I've found The Hip's European press contact.

Here's hoping I can get an interview with the guys sorted out...
