We haven't heard anything about the new album for a long time. Someone give me something to get me through the week. Make it up if you have to...

The new album is coming out sometime in 2009. My guess would be spring.

Yeah I'm pretty impatient too. I really want to hear some news or solid dates. It seems like it should pretty near to complete by now. Here's hoping for Part 4 some time soon.

Yes I second that!

Mav......? Confusedcratch:

want to be a nobody without peer
want to be a thought that's never done
want to shake your faith in human nature
want to break the hearts of everyone
want to be your wheezing screen door
want to be your stars of Algonquin
want to be your roaring floorboard
want to break the hearts of everyone

  • In addition to a cover song and an instrumental track, 3 of the 12 songs have been described as "hip-hop"
  • There is no rhythm guitar on this album, as Paul wanted the chance to show off his skills on the synthesizer. "It worked for Rush", he's been quoted as saying.
  • Gord Downie had to take over lead guitar duties on several tracks after Rob suffered debilitating injuries after getting his hair caught in his guitar.
  • Gord entirely rewrote one song just five minutes before recording it, after it was discovered that a member of the cleaning staff had read the lyrics and immediately understood what they were about.

I got so used to the studio album every even year since FC in 92. Sucks to go all of 08 with nothing.

Yeah I'm sure it'll be a long time coming, but it'll be well worth the wait...

I still would like some more teases though...man I am loving what I've heard so far.

Not to get ahead of myself, but as much as I love this new direction of theirs I'm still wishing that the next one after this one is going to be completely different and completely weird, something unexpected... a complete reinvention. Either that or another Gord solo album in that vein...
