The New Pornographers played the event last year. Kathryn Calder played the keyboard with mittens on. It was impressive.
I couldn't feel my feet after five minutes of standing there, but a free show was too much to pass up.
Plus, if you get in the middle of the crowd, it's not that bad, unless you don't like confined spaces.

I'm still debating about which Weakerthans show to go to that day - Toronto or Guelph. The Guelph one also has Cuff the Duke and Wintersleep, but given the Toronto one is free and I can walk home after the show, that's probably where I'll end up.

Anybody else go tonight? I was actually a pretty good set-up, I was impressed it sounded as well as it did given the circumstances. It seemed like a pretty good turnout as well. The setlist, for those interested in that kind of thing (it's from memory so the order may be a little off, but I think I have all the songs correct):
Sun in an empty room
Civil twilight
Our retired explorer
Reconstruction site
Aside
The reasons
Benediction
Virtute the cat explains her departure
Night windows
Tournament of hearts
This is a fire door...
Left & leaving
Confessions of a futon-revolutionist
Plea from a cat named virtute
One Great City
Pamphleteer
Manifest
