Is the band picking out the music that goes on the PA before shows, or is that just the soundguy's iPod?
There were some cool ones before the hip's set on saturday, like tweedle dee and tweedle dumb by Bob Dylan, Pocohontas by Neil young and Christine's Tune by The Flying Burrito bros.

I remember during the IVL tour in Edmonton, they played Ween.

There was also some Hip before the Hip at the Phoenix. I was surprised at what I was hearing and and asked a few people around me if they were hearing the same thing I was.

I enjoyed the Neutral Milk Hotel and Doves content. Matthew Sweet and Nick Drake were nice, as well.

They must be picking out the music cause at Guelph I specifically remember hearing Youth Against Fascism by Sonic Youth...
and since Gordie has a habit of opening Fire in the Hole with "It's the song I hate, It's the song I hate!" I cant see that not being on purpose.

To me, Young and Drake affirm that at least Gord D. had some influence on it(given his recent comments on Living With War). As for other tunes, it could be that the rest of the gang is picking some, too.

my second favourite was robert pollard's "subspace biographies" prior to the fort york night II show (i was still in the parking garage slurping beers but we got a call from a friend who was already inside and she said so).
and my ultimate favourite was before the stratford show, when, right before they were due on stage, gbv's "over the neptune/mesh gear fox" started. i had tears in my eyes. the tune starts with a "GBV! GBV!" crowd chant. so that was so, so, so, so cool.
(posted some of above in reviews section.)
and found out the next night that gord called pollard a "hero."
