Chart-Friendly Artists Among Canadian Radio Music Award Nominees
Quote:(CHART)- Arcade Fire, Simple Plan, Sum 41, Matt Mays El Torpedo, Bedouin Soundclash, Feist, K-OS and Mobile are among the contenders for this year's Canadian Radio Music Awards.
The awards will be handed out at a gala luncheon at Toronto's Royal York Hotel on March 4 as part of Canadian Music Week. The show, hosted by Carla Collins, will feature performances by Mays, Mobile, Amanda Stott, Massari, Divine Brown and Amanda Wilkinson. Blue Rodeo, who will be inducted into the Canadian Music Industry Hall Of Fame, will also perform. Nominations in most categories are based on airplay on various radio formats by artits who hit Canadian charts for the first time in 2005. Votes by radio programmers and on-air personalities will decide the winners. There are also three non-voting honours and the CRMA Fans Choice Award, where people can vote online at the CMW site for one of the five finalists.
