I just picked up their latest album "The Dirty South", and holy crap is it ever good. There's a good chance I might not have been turned on to these guys if they hadn't been mentioned here at the hipbase a few times. I'd like to send out a big thank you to all the DBT fans for enlightening me.
So which of their albums should I pick up next?

SOUTHERN ROCK OPERA!!!
I have mentioned these guys a few times, and half a dozen people PM'd me to talk about them, but I never got around to starting a thread so good for you. They are my new favourite band; Dirty South is f**king AMAZING and I just got ahold of Southern Rock Opera and for the first time since I discovered R. L. Burnside, I am wondering how the hell I managed to live so long without ever hearing of them before. Good for you for starting a thread to spread the good word!
Not only is their music every single bit as good as the Neil & Crazy Horse/Skynyrd music they are inspired by, but their whole southern mystique is fascinating to me. Maybe it's because it's all new to me, (never been there but I love Southern music and mythology), but I think they're the best "under the radar" band I've ever found. Get Southern Rock Opera....you won't believe how well they managed to weld hard, heavy rock with melodic guitar riffs and jamming.
Five stars for both SRO and Dirty South.

Decoration Day is amazing as well. Anyone out of the loop on these guys better get thier shit together. They kick some ass.

Thanks for the advice, guys! I now have two more albums to add to my ever-growing "must buy" list. I'm loving this band, and they keep getting better with each listen.

How would you DBT fans rate the 1's they released so far? is one or 2 a better listen? I just ordered The Dirty South, Decoration Day Southern Rock Opera & Gangstabilly, I'm hopin I made some wise choices and I want to see what all the rantin and ravin is about :mrgreen: .....so ya how would you rate these.....

The erly stuff has been reissued, theya re available at the HMV in downtown T.O. I have most of Alabama Ass whuppin, it is a live E.P. Great Title

A massive DBT fan friend of mine got me to go to their show in Boulder, CO. 2 hrs 50 min of continuous rocking (well, a 3 min encore break) later, I'm a fan. All that for $18. If you get the chance, GO SEE THIS BAND.

I'm gonna have to check out their earlier stuff now that it's been reissued. Still can't get enough of these guys. If they ever come anywhere near here I'll be in attendance.

Well I've been listening to the dirty south for bout a week now and I'm really really diggin it, solid opener that Where the devil don't stay :thumb: Tornadoes,Puttin people on the moon,the day john henry died, sands of iwo jima, never gonna change and lookout mountain are all kickin in real good :music shit all of it is awesome :thumb: but I'd say Daddy's Cup is my fav so far, love the guitaring in that, and the story. I'm now anxiously awaiting the other 4 I ordered, and the DVD is something I'm gonna check out as well! thanx alot for the tip Dire Wolf :thumb:
