Great job to Biga for getting those clips up, if you haven't seen them yet they're in the show review section...I can't help but notice the distinct difference in crowd interest between the 2 old songs (Little Bones, Blow) where the crowd was "going off" compared to the borderline lethargy shown during Makeshift... which is quickly becoming one of my all time Hip favourites, and what I would consider a "rock out-able" tune.

I'm wondering if it's a case of the crowd just not knowing the song yet... what percentage of the crowd do you think has actually bought the cd? or heard the song?. Even in the canoe.ca review, the author wasn't overly impressed during Makeshift, Joe and You're Everywhere, which leads me to think that it's merely a crowd familiarity issue rather than actual quality.

I would think by now most of the people going to these shows would have a copy of IBE... at least I'd hope so! So, I don't think it's a matter of not having heard the song before.

My guess is people are still trying to get into it... seems it takes a bit of time before newer songs become staples in the catalogue that Hip fans have to hear. So maybe by next tour everyone will be right into the new stuff too.

I could be wrong though... be interesting to see what others think about this.

Phantom Power came out in the summer (like IBE) but the PP tour also wasn't until months later (January/February). You would have thought most of the audience would have known PP by then.

But I can distinctly remember when the band began to play Escape is at Hand, jumping out of my seat in excitement, and the entire upper bowl (except one other person in my section) having this empty, what song is this stare.

A lot of people go to see concerts of bands whose recent albums they have never head.
