i really think thehip.com has dropped the ball lately as we've discussed many times...check out sites for bands like velvet revolver, pearl jam and (i hate to say it) metallica...great site the napster haters have, and all their shows are available for download....thehip.com used to be so cool!!

What's with all the Metallica bashing that goes on on so many different websites. People really need to get over the whole Napster issue. Metallica wanted to be able to control the distribution of their music. I know I sure as hell don't work for free, and musicians shouldn't have to either (no matter how much money they've already made.)

Sorry for the little rant, but I'm sick of seeing people take shots at Metallica because Lars had the balls to stand up for something he believed in (and a lot of musicians who didn't have the balls to stand up for their rights at the time have publicly, and privately, since backed Lars in what he did.)

And I agree that thehip.com should be updated more frequently, but then I may be a little spoiled in that regard being a member of Metallica's fanclub (who have some of the best people working on the club and the site.)

Agreed... which is why I was so pumped when the hip club came out. Unfortunately, it's also been pretty weak and disappointing (which is why I'm greatful for all the contributions at hipbase!)
