... the fact that not one person mentioned that CBC RadioOne Definitely Not The Opera broadcasted 50 minutes of the Hip's 2002 show in Belgium
this past Saturday March 27.

I can't believe no one other than myself listens to DNTO. Luckily I taped it.

More to the point would be how few people here listen to CBC Radio.
There have been plenty of posts on Hipbase lately.
Glad you taped it. How's the quality? What is the source? Why were they broadcasting a Hip show from 2 years ago? Did they mention anything about the show, or the band, that would be of interest to the rest of us. Any news about the new album or single?

Good eye there Mark :thumb:
I'm guessing the source is different than the boot of 11-05-2002 floating around? Too bad they only played 50 minutes of it; a complete FM source would've been sweet!

I did happen to catch the very end of this show on dnto the other day. I was scanning the am radio on my way back from Edmonton trying to pick up the flames game and heard some live hip so I stayed tuned only to find out it was the last song. I was shocked to hear hip on my am dial let alone live hip. very cool.
I then found the flames game and listened to them beat the kings in OT. Good trip for radio all around!! Go flames!!

Here's my info sheet on the recording. It was originally recorded and broadcasted on European radio. I do remember this show being webcasted the day of the show. CBCRadioOne is generally "AM radio" sounding since it was originally a AM Radio station.
Anyways nothing was mentioned at all in terms of a new album or whatever. Kinda weird that out of the blue DNTO played this recording, when generally they played CBC recorded concerts.
Saturday's on both CBCRadioOne and RadioTwo have awesome "modern" music shows. Sure beats the crap that is played on the standard rock stations.

I think you can get CBC Radio, depending on how close you are to the border. The signal for both CBC Radio and TV tends to bleed over the border. Ive caught it driving in the god forsaken North Woods of Wisconsin, so go figure :thumb:

Use Windows Media Player and you can get any radio station in North America and most of the world....give or take of course..
