With the passing of Gord Downie on the 17th of October 2017, Canadians lost
one of our most beloved music icons. Gord spent his final days shining light on the reconciliation with Canada’s First Peoples. He asked all Canadians to join the call to action. And now, a group of Canadian artists have joined our collective reconciliation journey with a concert to promote awareness, education and thoughtful action.​

In collaboration with The Gord Downie & Chanie Wenjack Fund, we welcome you to join us for a special evening to celebrate the man, the music and his legacy.

Legacy: A Tribute to Gord Downie will include performances of songs by Gord Downie, the Tragically Hip and shared stories by Twin Flames, Bruce McCulloch, Tom Wilson, Danny Michel, Trent Severn, Matthew Barber, and Damhnait Doyle. Speakers will also include Chief R. Stacey Laforme, Mississaugas of the New Credit First Nation, and Sarah Midanik, President & CEO of The Gord Downie & Chanie Wenjack Fund.

Funds raised will go directly to the Downie/Wenjack Fund Legacy and towards the designation of a Downie/Wenjack Fund Legacy Space at The Burlington Performing Arts Centre.

when JT said cannabis would be legal on oct 17th i think he picked that specific date
and lets face it...the hip are big weed fans. they always have been!

so to turn today into a positive...imagine how happy GORD would be today, if he was still around?
it's gonna be a tough day but the legalization of cannabis is a huge step forward for our free world. the hip are happy for sure!

and yes i will bring politics into this. harper and his CONS would have never done this. so they royally suck
imo it's a very very important issue. prohibition of alcohol did not work. same with cannabis. it's crazy how long and how much money was spent to finally figure this out!
most of the high ups in the toronto police force who busted kids for years are now involved in the legal cannabis industry. go figure!

i will be there tonight. perhaps there will be some tears but most of all i will be thinking of how happy gord would have been on THIS DAY
