With the passing of Gord Downie on the 17th of October 2017, Canadians lost
one of our most beloved music icons. Gord spent his final days shining light on the reconciliation with Canada’s First Peoples. He asked all Canadians to join the call to action. And now, a group of Canadian artists have joined our collective reconciliation journey with a concert to promote awareness, education and thoughtful action.
In collaboration with The Gord Downie & Chanie Wenjack Fund, we welcome you to join us for a special evening to celebrate the man, the music and his legacy.
Legacy: A Tribute to Gord Downie will include performances of songs by Gord Downie, the Tragically Hip and shared stories by Twin Flames, Bruce McCulloch, Tom Wilson, Danny Michel, Trent Severn, Matthew Barber, and Damhnait Doyle. Speakers will also include Chief R. Stacey Laforme, Mississaugas of the New Credit First Nation, and Sarah Midanik, President & CEO of The Gord Downie & Chanie Wenjack Fund.
Funds raised will go directly to the Downie/Wenjack Fund Legacy and towards the designation of a Downie/Wenjack Fund Legacy Space at The Burlington Performing Arts Centre.
Please join us for a very special evening, in celebration of a very special man,
for a very worthy cause.
