Grace Too is out for me. It's merely excellent. Scared and ND, however, are two of the very finest things the Hip ever did. Maybe THE finest.

Its always interesting seeing everyone opinions, we're all bought together by a common love of a group/music, but still all having varied tastes within.
To me this was an easy one. I love Scared, I agree with it making it to the final three, but personally it does no compare to Grace or ND.
Nautical Disaster is just an epic song beyond proportions. And for me Grace Too has to be one of the most incredible opening tracks ever recorded, setting the stage for the entire album. Its just not possible to hear Gord's opening bassline without getting the goosebump chills and the non-voluntary head movement to the groove.
The only other song that has done that for me is the Stones Gimmie Shelter, which I would rate as a tie with Grace for best opening track.

All decisions have been comparatively easy so far compared to what's coming up after this Round.
The winnowing and the threshing is going to leave us with two grains of wheat.

Scared for me - I love Scared but compared to Grace and Nautical, while it is great, it's just not quite as great.
Not really a hard decision but as with many other selections, hard to vote "against" such a great song.

Yeah, Scared for me too. As much as I love the song, it was probably the easiest vote I’ve made for this album. Grace and Nautical are next level good

Ended up voting Scared off the island. As brilliant as that song is, it's just not quite in the same stratosphere as Nautical and Grace. I agree with Cochise. Grace, Too is easily one of the greatest opening tracks ever recorded by anyone. And Nautical still holds up as the perfect marriage of the band's musicality and Gord's poetry. Who knew that a song with no discernible verse, chorus, or bridge could end up being so damn powerful.

In one of his interviews on Q, Gord was responding to a question about each album sounding like a new direction and if that was a conscious choice. He said that they never tried to make a certain type of music or song. They just wrote what they wrote and they ended writing some pretty "weirdo songs".
Down to Grace and Nautical, these are two great examples of weirdo songs. Grace is like nothing I've ever heard before and Nautical is free flowing without a chorus.
