Can you get close to the stage though at a Tool show without getting hammered on? Guess I'm asking if its a bunch of meatheads throwing down in the pit.

The reason I was bored by Tool is that it's not so much seeing a band play, it's more like seeing a movie of a band playing. Sure, it has fancy effects, but it's all totally choreographed and without spontaneity. Except that time a fan jumped on stage and Maynard put him in some kind of judo hold while continuing to sing, I suppose.
