Original Release Dates
#1

I've checked around a couple of sites but I can't seem to find the original release dates for the following albums:

Up To Here
Road Apples
Fully Completely
Day For Night

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I believe the original release dates for every album are listed in liner notes of the 'Hipeponymous' booklet. I'm not positive, but I do recall reading the original release dates in there (I think) and kinda putting them into a chronological timeline in relation to all of their tour dates, just to see the patterns they followed and how quickly they toured after a new album, when they played Canada, when they played the US, etc.

I'm sorry but I must be blind.
I'm looking through my copy of Hipeponymous and all I'm seeing in terms of release dates is in the legend on the first page.

There is a boatload of incredible info available on thehip.com.... Smile like this:

EP: The EP was first released in Kingston in December of 1987. EP was distributed nationally in Canada in January of 1988. Throughout 1988 we toured as much of Canada was we could, doing around 200 shows between January and September. We played anywhere people wanted us clubs, bars, campus events and gyms. We managed to get some radio play and videos were shot for Small Town Bringdown and Last American Exit. At the very end of 1988 we signed the usual seven record contract with MCA. Our EP was remastered and "All Canadian Surf Club" was added. The new version would be available worldwide in March of 1989.

That date for DFN must have been a reissue. Just going by memory, original issue was around September 1994 wasn't it? I am sure I remember it being my first year at Lakehead?

Yes Sept 94 for DFN

I will not give up. My face is set,my gait is fast,my goal is heaven,my road is narrow,my way is rough,my companions are few,my guide is reliable,my mission is clear. I cannot be bought, compromised, detoured, lured away, turned back, diluted or delayed. I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the presence of adversity, negotiate at the table of the enemy, ponder at the pool of popularity,or meander in the maze of mediocrity. I will not give up,shut up or slow down....Blessed Be!

Oops... I lost part of what I was copying and pasting... I've updated the post with the correct info.

Thanks a lot for this info. I never really got around to checking out the full extent of the 'new' site. It's been my experience that official sites are not the greatest for accurate discographies... this proves to be a bit of an exception I guess.

Thanks again.

Day For Night was released on exactly Saturday September 24, 1994. kind of an irrelevant post but I have a poster in my room with that on it advertising "the new album from the Tragically Hip" I found it funny that it was specific enough to include the Saturday. Also wierd that it was released on a Saturday, I though most albums are usually released on Tuesday, must have been different back then.
