It's amazing. The hip are almost 20 years in and even though we all like them... sales and younger groups are decreasing. But looking at the line-up at the SkyDome, The Hip are the ones closing the show. How cool is that?!

It just goes to show that out of Sum 41, Avril Lavigne, Barenaked Ladies, OLP.....these guys still command the most respect.

I could make the argument that if not for the Hip and their breakthrough in the Can-Con world that was the early 90s, bands like Sum41, OLP and Avril wouldn't have gotten anywhere near the exposure both in Canada and stateside that they enjoy today...

If anyone hasn't read it, I'd strongly recommend picking up the book "Have Not Been the Same: the Canrock Renaissance 1985-95"...you'll understand why the Hip are so revered in the Canadian music industry...
