Damn! I can't make it to that one, but it is difficult to get tix for any of them if I NEVER RECEIVE THE EMAIL!. The only one I got was on 01/18. I've been a registered member. What gives?!? Is it because I'm in the US or my geographic location does not deem me worthy of the email (I live in Buffalo for crying out loud!) I'll have to turn here for my updates.

I would be willing to pay a few dollars a year to insure front of the line treatment free of (most) scalpers! Lets hope First in Lines sets up quick!

Just go to thehip.com. It is right on their homepage. Now I thought this was something that was just announced through the mailing list? Doesn't it clearly say: "before it is publicly announced?" Wouldn't posting the email on the homepage essentially be announcing it to the public? I thought it was just because I was logged in but I logged out and then went the homepage again and sure enough, there it is, posted for the world to see.

I get the feeling tickets might be harder to come by then initially thought...

Well, I'm trying to make this list i have one all inclusive one, but it takes awhile. If you'e on twice, remove the account that you don't want, it'll be easier.

If you're not geting emails, it's most likely becasue of a spam filter. Doubel check your ISP or your Norton or what ever.

You guys posted the email I sent on this site four times within one minute of it being sent . . . but I will take it down until morning. . . .

The show is General admission. I believe the capicity of the venue is 6000. I got married there, so it holds a special place in my heart. There are a good chunk of tickets.

I would rather see a Ten Club type (nominal fee) set up where you KNOW you'll get better seats than going through TM, eventhough you don't know exactly what you'll get until you pick the tix up at the box office before the show. I thought something similar was to be part of the New Hip Club.

But you just contradicted yourself there because you stated that you don't like the fact that you don't know where the tickets are going to be and you don't have a choice in the matter, yet you want it to be like the Ten Club where you still don't know where the tickets will be. And correct me if I'm wrong, but with the Ten Club, the earlier the number that you have (meaning the earlier the date you joined), the better tickets you will get. That is only fair to the people that signed up ages ago.

Ten Club type system. Take the best of it and make it better. Yeah, that seniority deal is pretty lame, so dump it - first-come, first-served or a lottery is better. Just make sure the fan club gets the best seats, period. You know your seat through the fan club (or thehip.com) will be better than through TM eventhough you don't know exact location. I don't think that's contradictory. Maybe I'm not articulating what I'm trying to say very well.

Like I said in the earlier post, The Hip have always treated the fans extremely well. I would expect the FiL deal to follow suit.

Does anyone think that because of this show and the timing of the Europe shows that ARA is not going to be in the works this year? Maybe Im way off, but it seems like its not happening, going by the possible late spring/early summer release date of the new album and all the shows that have been announced already, July is a definitely not going to work with all the Europe shows. Of course there's always August and September, it was just a thought.

Someone mentioned a Hipbase gathering, I hope that's going to happen. Maybe some of us can meet somewhere early in the day and go to the show together perhaps? Right after we get a good buzz on of course!

Man, that is one incredible lineup! This will be the 2nd show the Hip have played with the Weakerthans. Hmm...I wonder if a full-on Hip/Weakerthans North American tour is in the works for this summer. That would seriously make my year. Oh, and the Sadies kick ass too!

So far it looks like the European tour will be fairly short, so ARA might still be a possibility for August. I doubt it'll actually happen, but ya never know.

No you cleared your thoughts/wishes up rather nicely with that post. And I agree with you that the Hip have always treated their fans with the utmost of respect. And I believe that they will ensure that this system will be beneficial to their fans. It may not be 100% the first time around, but I have faith!
