i love the NOIS version on the Nautical Disaster single...it really sounds like a band full of confidence...we hear early renditions of fire in the hole, and ND, and of course the 'beauty will save the world won't it"...brilliant...anybody else have thoughts on this version? it kind of gets overlooked to my thinking due to the other versions of NOIS we all know and love

I barely recognized you opiated, with that new avatar. I love that episode, hmmmmm gummy venus.. :lol: As for NOIS I haven't heard that version, is it on the FTP? Or can you send me a mp3 of it perhaps? :thumb:

The thing I can't decide is if it's a fantastic version of Nautical or a fantastic version of NOIS, or both. Definitely a highlight and it has made it onto numerous compilation CDs of mine.
In high school, I painted the "pride would never set foot in paradise, would it, and beauty will save the world, won't it, and enthusiasm does conquer all, doesn't it" lyrics on my pencil case in liquid paper. (aside: there's a version of Little Bones out there where Gord says "and a teeny-tiny cat can save the world, can't it" or something similar).
And the most cool aspect -- it was actually released as a single, so it exists in high-quality sound and not in some scratchy version where you have to imagine how great it must've sounded.
Yeah, i love it. If you haven't heard it, go out and find it.

Isn't the "teeny-tiny cat" line from Little Bones on the Roxy and Elsewhere comp?
Also the "beauty won't save the world" lines come up on Courage I think from the Lansdowne ARA 1993 show if I recall correctly.

That version of Nautical/NOIS is probably my favorite live Hip song I have in my collection. I have used the "Beauty" quote as my favorite whenever asked since I first heard this version. I have spent many drunk and/or otherwise enhanced nights discussing this song with my best friend. It even got to the point that everytime i hear Nautical I wait for that quote.

If you look at his other auctions, that guy has a lot of Hip singles and rare discs, I cant believe he would want to part with them. I wouldnt!

I noticed on 3 of those singles, there is a live version of Pigeon Camera, are they all different? I have a live acoustic type version on my PC but I love that song and would love to hear the others.
