I was listening to WMMR (Philadelphia) this morning and they had a few Sixers as guests, one being Todd MacCulloch who is from Winnipeg. They were joking around with him – asking if he knew “Jim” – all in good fun. Then they said we’ll play a Canadian band for you – here’s some Rush. Just before Limelight starts, he quickly said, “Play some Hip.” So after Limelight finishes, they said to him, we understand you’re into more “contemporary” music like The Tragically Hip and some other group I never heard of.

I never thought of The Hip as “contemporary”, but it was a nice plug from Todd.

Is his career officially over? Or is he still trying to work his way back from that weird condition he has?

I believe he retired, but is still involved with the Sixers on the Public Relations end of things.

a friend of mine heard this on the radio also...he emailed me as soon as he heard it. ive been trying to get my philly friends to listen to the hip for a while but so far the only song they really like is 50 mission cap(theyre all hockey fans) maybe todd mcgulloch's endorsement will add some credibility to the hip in the philly area(HA!)

That is awesome. Since Y100 died, my only option at home is MMR. I'm sad that I wasn't home to hear it! Great post. :thumb:
