I will not give up. My face is set,my gait is fast,my goal is heaven,my road is narrow,my way is rough,my companions are few,my guide is reliable,my mission is clear. I cannot be bought,compromised,detoured,lured away,turned back,diluted or delayed. I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice,hesitate in the presence of adversity,negotiate at the table of the enemy,ponder at the pool of popularity,or meander in the maze of mediocrity. I will not give up,shut up or slow down....Blessed Be!

I believe this actually comes from an old, old group from the 50's and 60's called The Kingston Trio - who I think were from California.
It is from the album listed above

It's an old bluegrass standard. The Kingston Trio is one of several groups that recorded it, but I don't know who wrote it.
Ruby
Ruby, Ruby
Honey are you mad at your man
I will set you in the shade
Shovel with my spade
Digging in the Brown Coal Mine
* Refrain
I've done all I can do
To get along with you
Still you're not satisfied
* Refrain
If you don't believe I'm right
Then follow me tonight
I'll take you to my shanty so cold
* Refrain

Just as Fire In The Hole is an old folk standard...I love how Gord interjects classic but obscure references as direct quotes like that. It really makes you want to explore his roots and inspirations more!

I figure if I bring a big enough box and leave it with first roadie I find it should get to them eventually. Any clues?

OK, this is a useless question... How tall are they? From the pics I've seen, it looks like Paul, Gord S. and Johnny are all about the same height, with Rob and Gord towering over them. Also, sometimes Rob looks huge, sometimes Gord looks taller. Which one's taller?
BTW, I'm average height. :wink:

Gord Downie is rather tall.
Which confused me for years.
I would see pictures of him and me, or him and my friends and I always thought he should be taller.
And then last year we ran into him again and I watched him take a picture with someone and I saw him crouch down to be the same height as the person in the picture - and I went Ah Ha!
So as an answer to your question, I have no clue.

im not positive but i think ive read that Gord D is around 6'1? ive met Rob once and i was able to get a picture with him. he was about my height if not a shade taller and im standin 5'10 , 5'11 depending on my ego lol.
as for the rest of them im not too sure.
**edit** after taking a look at said picture. rob is definitely more than just a "shade" taller than me so if i were to wager a guess id say 6'2 because he also got a pic with my buddy and theyre the same height in it.
