so, besides the annual playing of Fiddler's Green on September 17, anyone else got any quirky hip customs?

Myself: anytime I acquire something new that has a CD player in it (e.g. a new CD player, a new apartment, a new car, a new computer), the first song I always play is Three Pistols. This tradition dates back to September 1995 when I moved to Gordon House residence at Queen's and was totally groovin on Road Apples at the time. I cranked out 3P after I'd unpacked all my crap (actually, before I finished unpacking all my crap. I played it as soon as I unpacked (a) the CD player and (b) Road Apples).

My ex's Mom was named Susan and she would always blather on and on about stuff I really did not care about. When it got too much I would always drop a "so anyway, Susan" followed by a "better get goin". Talking to her was alot like fingernails scratching on my hull.

Funny you should mention blasthing Three Pistols in Queen's rez...When I moved in, a few years after you would have attended, as part of the orientation package they had a list of residence rules. One of the rules was something like "Just because you live in Kingston now doesn't mean you can blast Three Pistols on your stereo".

Day For Night has been my "walking album" for a long time. Pop it on the headphones, and away we go.

On the other hand, Henhouse has been my "flying album" ever since I moved down to the States. Flying to Boston for the first time, it was the first cassette(!) I popped in my Walkman. Now every time I get in an airplane, I cue it up on my Walkman -- Gift Shop is synonymous with flying for me.
