HugeHipFan Wrote:TO CLEAR UP THE CONFUSION:
My friend and I went out West for the first 3 club shows. Upon leaving the Edmonton show, there were IBE postcards for the taking. As a souvenir to some of my Hip friends who couldn't make the trip (sorry Todd, get you next time!) I got them autographed at the Calgary after-show and then had them mailed. As I told my friends out West, "I won't be getting anything autographed for myself, just for these guys back East".
Johnny left early, so you guys will have to hit him up for a sig later. I told Gord what I was doing, and asked him to write something along the lines of "too bad you missed the shows, they were great". He asks me "are you trying to make them jealous?" to which I replied "not at all! I'm trying to give them a unique souvenir since they couldn't make it out here". In his own inimitable style, he decided to write his own comments. The first was "It wasn't west wing", a very sly comment with many connotations (comparing live music to prerecorded television, etc etc) and the second was "The show was so-so", a self-deprecating comment if I've ever heard one.
[Jeff, I figured you would appreciate the humour in it. Instead you get all "big-headed" and think Gord personally sent you a postcard because you gave him a dvd. Boy, a guy has a second child and thinks he's king of the world. Chantal did all the work you know!]
Anyway, I'm glad everyone is enjoying their cards. Let's get them scanned and uploaded for all to see!
Matt the marketing man
What to do when:
- you've been to over 75 shows
- you've been backstage dozens of times
- either Gord walks up to you, calls you by your 1st name and asks if "you" have a spare sharpie
- you're getting a little concerned that TTH is adding you to the offical "stalker-watch" :rambo:
YOU SIMPLY DIVERT THEIR ATTENTION TO SOMETHING UNIQUE LIKE SIGNING THINGS FOR FRIENDS WHO CAN'T MAKE THE CROSS-COUNTRY TRIP TO EVERY CLUB SHOW...... ALL SO YOU CAN GET CLOSE JUST ONE MORE TIME...

Thanks MATT it was real cool what you did....and for about an hour until I found the thread here I was like a 1970's teenaged girl who just got a signed poster from Shaun Cassidy!
Jeffro with something to add to my hip-collection!
