Hi,
Would anyone know the real location and date for the recording
of the "Milan" show. It is my understanding that the Tragically Hip never played in Italy.

Hey there,
I was JUST listening to a show I call "Pigeonholed" which claims to be from Milan in '91, however, he makes references in the show to "My fellow Bavarians" and "My fellow Austrians, I shant see you again for some time."
To help you identify the show, he says other things like, "Tying one of these large cameras to a bird..." Beginning of Pigeon Camera.
Also, "That was a Rush song..." said after he sang something during NOIS.

hey guys,
i think i might be able to shed some light on this mystery. i was going through all my boots the other day and i found a copy of this show labelled 'milan '93'. i did a little digging and it is true the hip have never played italy so i dug a little deeper to find out what show this was cause it's got some good banter with the crowd 'my appendix is coming out....no, it's not mexican food' and my fav version of Gems with Thugs as the outro.
anyways moving on, my copy seems to be an amalgam of a few shows (it's not up for trade so don't worry) but it appears to come from this series of shows: 02/07/93 Halden Germany and 02/08/93 Munich Germany (I believe that most of the show I had came from Munich).
I have the setlists for both so if you want to email me or look it up in the setlist search go ahead. hope this helps!

Hey again, the show is actually '93 , not '91 and just a note, that Mexican Food/apendix reference is from an L.A. show in '93.

thanks for the info (mexican/appendix) apparently I have a 'best of '93' collection going and didn't know it.....the rest of the tracks are from the other two germany shows in '93 though

The show "pigeonholed" was definetly mislabelled as I have the a video of the german tv special the sound was pulled from.I will dig it out and post the name of the program when I find it.
