most overrated Hip tune
#31

I'm probably going to get beat for this, but Scared and Wheat Kings are my picks for most overrated. Every fan I talk to, they tell me one or both of them are their favorites. Don't get me wrong, they are beautiful songs, I am just not a big fan of the slower songs...from any rock band. Just my $.02.

Cheers!

(O.K. I'm ready to be set alight for this but.....)

1. Blow at High Dough

2. Courage

3. Boots or Hearts

4. 38 Years Old

I love any of these four songs on any given day, but the folks programming f.m. radio here in the Capital have played these to death. I wouldn't call them overrated but definately overplayed. It's a shame too because by only playing a handful of tracks from the most popular albums, so much great Hip stuff is not heard by folks who may like it but don't know it's there.

Really? 38 Years? I agree on the others, but I wish I heard 38 more often. What station plays it? I wish it were the Bear... I just get more Nicklecreed from them whenever I tune in.

We keep our radio at work set on Chez. (Not my choice, but the one station everyone seems to agree on. Thank God--no Magic or Hot). Anyway for a while there this past spring 38 seemed to be on all the time. In fact, one of the co-op students who works there made mention of how over played it was for an "old tune". Their words not mine.

i think if "up to here" were to be released now people would be doing backflips in the street and calling it there greatest album ever. but most of the songs have been played over and over and have lost there bang. new orleans is sinking has been a signature song for the band but i HOPE its not on the setlist for a tour or two.
nothing is dead down here.......its just a little tired. {little bones shakes the pictures of the walls and the cat runs for cover as me and grandma slamdance in the living room}

Maybe New Orleans in Sinking - everyone seems to be tired of that song, but me. I, personally, think it's a great tune, though. Some seem to believe that Three Pistols should be played more often. Of course, I think *any* Tragically Hip song could stand to use more recognition in the States.
