I didn't even know these guys had a new album coming out until I came across it at HMV yesterday. I'll admit I lost interest in Sloan about three albums ago, but I've heard some excellent reviews of the new one. I might have to check it out.

I still haven't gotten around to picking up the album, but it sounds good from what I heard at their NxNe show last Thursday. In other news did anyone catch the Chris Murphy spread in the National Post last week? It's pure gold.

I ended up playing hockey with I Mother Earth, but when we moved here I was like, 'Who would be in a band with Edwin?' What a dork.

I couldn't disagree more. A few years ago I did a sit-down interview with Chris Murphy and Patrick Pentland regarding the new album they were promoting at the time (can't remember which one), and I thought they were both very cool and down to earth. It sounds like he's just goofin' around and going for laughs with some of those National Post quotes. Love the quote about Radiohead.
