sold out already, they said they thought it would sell out in 5 minutes, but their servers were too slow haha, much to the delight of the people who waited two days outside of the arena i'm sure...good for them.

I saw him in October 2006 in Edmonton, and it was the greatest non-Hip concert I've ever seen. He's an amazing performer.

Absolutely a great show. I saw him at the ACC a few years ago...3 hours straight playing, no break.

I just got back from his show last night in Portland, Maine.

Heed my warning and check the Elton John site carefully.

We were rocking out all the way down to Maine: Pinball Wizard, Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting, The Bitch Is Back etc.

The Kitchener and Sudbury shows are going to be the same as Portland...

Solo.

Now, I mean, the show was mediocre I guess, but we had expectations that we would be on our feet dancing and singing along.

2 and half hours of 'Candle In The Wind' and 'Can You Feel The Love Tonight' overtop of cheesy synthesized background music (straight from the 80s) was... definetly bizarre. And lets face it... when you're playing solo, you need to be able to carry your voice. Age wise, he's getting up there, so no high notes. A ballad version of 'I'm Still Standing' with low vocal range just rubbed me the wrong way. And it was that way all night with many songs.

We paid $127 for our seats. Knowing what I know now, I wouldn't pay $25.

Elton has some of the greatest rock songs in history. Philadelphia Freedom and Bennie & The Jets do not carry well solo.

I would go back to see him with a band. But I would not recommend this solo... even if you did know that going into it (unlike us losers).
Lots of people we're leaving after about 45 minutes. One of the most disappointing shows I've ever been to.

I hope I don't get crucified for this post. Smile

oh great, ebay pulls my fremoves my ticket auction listing, and now i hear this!?!?!?!?!

i'm so pissed right now, seriously...WTF!!!!!!!!

i was selling the ticket with a cd, so that technically the ticket wasn't being the sold for over face value, cuz it was a ticket and a cd together, and there's no law about what you can sell a cd for...

seriously, i want to burn down the arena, fuck it, the wolves fucking suck anyway!

I have to disagree with Bonner. Elton John is a classic act, and if you have a chance to see him and appreciate his music, do it.

It's not that over-produced crap that tweens and kids nowadays think is music. This is real music by a real musician. He's one hell of a performer, and it's one of the best shows I've ever been to. Just amazing... worth every penny.

Theres lots of rumors going around about Elton coming to the Maritimes for a few shows this summer. Hopefully it's with a full band, i'll definitely be there.

That sucks though Sean that you travelled all the way/shelled out that much $$ and didn't really get what you expected.
