I am sure you meant that in a respectful way...you did read that this is for a very sick young man's benefit and that it is a close friend of mine.It came across as being disrespectful and in bad taste.My guess is that you dont like the make and or model of the guitar.The intent was someone gets a trophy to display from a band that they love.The money helps out a wonderful FAMILY.

I agree with you.....I asked a few guitar shops in the area and the avg. price suggested was $500. we had a local offer of $600 so that is what we started it at.

No disrespect was intended at all. I recognize that it's for a really good cause and the money will do wonders for his family. Yes, it is a shame that it's a Washburn. And no, it's not like someone's going to whip it out at a campfire singalong and play it...

I'm all for charity... if I had some money I'd be glad to help out. It's no secret that the Hip do these types of things to help raise funds and/or awareness for various causes. Again, I wasn't belittling the auction itself or the principles behind it. Maybe it's just a personal taste and I should have probably just kept my opinion to myself. Sorry.

I had a feeling it came across the wrong way.Few Hip fans are the type that would have intended that in a hurtful manner.I just found out that my friend will not be able to return to his job after the op. on Friday the 23rd...not good.Thanks for the clarification.
