The Tragically Hip played a sold-out concert at Sudbury Arena Saturday night.
Earlier in the day, three members of the Canadian band surprised local high school students when they walked into Confederation Secondary School to catch the Evolutionary Band in rehearsal.
"The band and crew were caught completely by surprise," says band director Norm McIntosh.
Evolutionary was being filmed by a local production crew working on a full length documentary on The "REAL School of Rock.
"Members of the film crew were also treated to personal interviews by the Hip on the important topic of music education," says McIntosh.
The Hip knew how to please Sudbury fans, playing an encore of Sudbury Saturday Night.

Of all the highschools to pick in Sudbury they went to Confed??? Nothing like a trip to "The Valley" to take in all that Sudbury has to offer.
Next time check out Lo-Ellen Park Secondary School fellas...the chicks are waaaaay hotter and the poutine in the caf is to die for.

Seriously, I graduated from Confed in the early 80s, just when Norm was in his 2nd or 3rd year running that program... he's an OK guy.
HUGE thumbs-up to the Hip for taking interest and time.

ya, my buddy Alex used to play the Trombone in that band...
I'm glad The boys didn't go to my former highschool (Lasalle), because it isn't worthy of their presence...
hell, that place wasn't even worthy of Project Wyze's presence :mrgreen: ( they too are former (L/C)ancers ).
