I hope this is true!
But,
The Sun has a reputation for not exactly being accurate.. :?
And I haven't read this anywhere else, as of yet.
Led Zeppelin to tour again
By THOMAS WHITAKER
Showbiz Reporter
LEGENDARY rockers Led Zeppelin are set to re-group after 22 years for a money-spinning stadium tour of America.
The three surviving members — singer Robert Plant, guitarist Jimmy Page and bassist John Paul Jones — plan to hit the road next summer.
The trio hope to pocket £6.4million for the shows.
Robert, 54, Jimmy, 58, and 56-year-old John Paul met two weeks ago at the offices of their management firm Trinifold.
They buried the hatchet over Page and Plant’s 1990s tour, which John Paul only learned about from a newspaper.
A band insider said last night: “If the right offer comes up they will do it.”
Trinifold added: “Jimmy is itching to do something, but there is nothing firm yet.”
Zeppelin split in 1980 after a booze binge killed drummer John Bonham.
His son Jason is set to play drums on the tour.
The band, famed for songs like Stairway to Heaven and Whole Lotta Love, are second only to the Beatles in worldwide album sales.
They still hold records for crowds at their 1970s concerts.
A music industry insider said: “They had so many hits that I am sure the reunion would be a major success.”

I dunno if I want this to happen or not....
I thought JPJ had said he'd never be part of a Zep reunion tour of any sort...
Wow.

If the hip play Halifax the same day as a Zep show in Boston...
I'm sorry Gord, but Master Page is calling me.

Not the same but I would go. But then I didn't go see Page/Plant so who knows. I'm not paying $150 a seat though. I'd probably top out at $60 for this. Why $60 I don't know but sounds like a good firm number :thumb:

I asked some people who post at LZ sites, and they're sayin' the story's probably bogus..
Well,
The Sun does have a nice page 3.

The article is a waste of time.
".......and bassist John Paul Jones — plan to hit the road next summer."
and then it says:
A band insider said last night: “If the right offer comes up they will do it.”
Trinifold added: “Jimmy is itching to do something, but there is nothing firm yet.”
Contradictory, and complete nonesense.
Nothing is learned or gained from reading this article.

i hope it isn't true..a zep reuninon would be disappointing..it's been held off for doing for so long..it couldn't measure up..it wouldn't measure up..the power of bonham is too much to replace..and the fact that plant is putting out the best material of his solo work speaks to me, that he don't need to do it...

I see your point there, but for someone like me who's 29 years old and never had a chance to see them its like a dream come true. I couldn't pass it up.

I bet it doesn't happen, I'm leaning towards hoping it doesn't, either.
Page's fingers can't do what they used to. Neither can Plant's vocal cords. He still sounds great singing stuff he's written recently for his well-worn pipes, but 80% of Zep tunes have notes he wouldn't dream of hitting anymore.

I would have to disagree with that. Saw him last summer at the Molson Amphitheatre and I thought his voice sounded better than it has in the past 10 years or so.............

I didn't say that his voice
didn't sound good (see bolded statement in my quote above). I agree that it sounds terrific these days, and has become more rich and textured with age.
What I implied is that he doesn't have anywhere close to the same range he had when he was in his twenties (Zeppelin-era).
He doen't even write stuff that requires the type shrieking and wailing he did with Zeppelin.

for his age, and all it's been through..he sounds great...however..the zep tunes he does take on tour with him now, he sings in an entirely different way..he's a "mighty reaarranger" now
