I was just wondering how many people actually pull out a shirt from an old tour and wear it to a Hip show?

Tonight in Red Deer I'll be sporting my Red Hip jersey, my 50 mission cap and Also a trag beltbuckle. Is that too Much Hip?

I've actually never worn a Hip shirt to a Hip show. I have kind of a general rule not to wear the shirt of the band I'm seeing. Not sure why exactly. It's just my thing.

I'm going to the hip on wednesday, so today was hipshirt day.

Bootlegger420... You can never have too much Hip. And I always bring out my Hip shirt from the 94/95 tour of the gargoyal faces on the front, and have worn it to every Hip concert I have been too.

Since I've got my 'base shirt, I've worn it to every show. Still don't think I've seen anyone else wearing one despite the basers that I've met.

i got me the white Hip home jersey at my second show and have worn it to every show ever since!.....though it got pretty dirty standing by the stage in Barrie Sept. 6/03 :thumb:

I think I wore the Hip t-shirt I bought at my first show (in '91) to every Hip show I saw in the 90s. It became sort of a tradition to wear the original shirt to each show, then put on the new shirt I bought before the band took the stage. By the 2002 tour, I gave it up, as the shirt had seen much better days.

Perhaps I'll resurrect the tradition for the upcoming ACC show :thumb:

I've worn my ugly beige shirt to every Hip concert I've attended since 1998, in honour of Vapour Trails -- "Mexicans, dressed in beige shirts" ... although I'm not Mexican and the shirt is almost more brown than beige (though it is certifiably ugly).

I thought the rules were ("legs scream at bikes, bikes scream at trucks ..."): you can listen to the CDs immediately before the show, but not immediately after; you can wear other bands shirts to the show, but not the band performing, unless they are a less well-known opening act.

I get the impression from the hardcore gig going community, that wearing a band shirt to that band's convert is something of a faux pas. Even worse is wearing a bands shirt that you bought that night. I don't really know why though.

I used to buy and wear band t-shirts to shows all the time, but I've (on the whole) stopped now. I've generally smartened myself up now recently, and I sold a lot of the band t-shirts I didn't wear often.

It is a faux pas of sorts....funny isn't it. I always used to wear concert tees of a different band than the one I was seeing, just to see how many people would come up to me and say "I saw that tour!"

I have worn an old shirt concert to a new concert on occassion...my theory is that the older the shirt is, the more acceptable this is...which means the '95 Gargoyle shirt could make an appearance this Friday...

Also, if it's cold enough (which it usually is in the prairies on these winter tours) I think throwing a new purchase on over top of the old one makes sense...gotta stay warm!!!

I wonder why that is. I've worn my Phantom Power Hip shirt to concerts and I bought my IBE shirt in Halifax and wore it for that show; and also wore it in Charlottetown. I don't give a flying F*(K about a list of geeky rules that nerds came up with. Why would someone intentionally not wear a Hip shirt to a Hip show they were seeing? What's the point? It is uncool to let people know how big of a fan you are? I don't get it. F*&k these sissy rules and the people who thought them up. People can wear garbage bags or Hip shirts or whatever the hell they want to shows. What does wearing a Hip shirt to a concert imply? I'm confused. :roll:
