Anyone interested in making it happen? Some of you were graced with disc 8 but that only covered material up to M@W.

Kinda hoping to do a LGRTF 2.0 as I wasn't all that happy with a lot of the stuff on there. At the time it was cool to have different versions, but seven years later, there's room to be more picky about things. I have a few discs of wav files that I cut a lot of the originals from, but I'd have nothing past M@W for references as I haven't had the time to be so auditory...

Would kind of like to re-do the project from start to finish, both with demo/b-side/unreleased stuff, then go on to live snippets that developed in to real songs, then have live rants etc. Finally would like to separate GD's stuff from Hip stuff etc.

Anyone up for it? A collaborative effort? Think the only creative control I'd want on the second go 'round is that someone could design new covers for the new project, but I'd want my Hip photography to grace the covers...

I'll help out if I can... with providing tracks, etc... but I'll leave the editing to others.

Thanks Chris, I can totally do the editing. Maybe a few of us could collaborate on what needs to be included. I'll need help with tracks, but I can do the editing.

Also, because I've been out of the loop for awhile, some of the old tracks have new names so I might need help with stuff. I'm going to dig out my master discs and reconfigure the early stuff, if people want to help out and know of live tracks that had snippets of newly released songs, feel free to drop them in here and we'll go fromt here...

As for the old seven (eight really) discs, I'll take best versions of songs and we'll just do one version of each song unless it's a cut that has a few different references in them...

So, to be clear, what we're looking for is live songs that have rants or snippets of songs that developed into full album tracks or somewhat well known rants (a la Killerwhaletank...Log Jam...Cowboy Coffee/Purple Paint etc.)

If people want to email me individual tracks that have references in them, just retitle the individual song with what the snippet is called and I can edit them... <a href="mailto Confused

A couple people have asked for clarification:

If you know of a live song that has a rant or piece of a newer/develpoped song sung in it as an ad lib or whatever, send it to me noting which song is included. As you know many songs get developed over time in the live set, that's what we're looking for.

As an example, Gord used to throw in lines about Poets a few years back, that developed further into "Don't tell me what the poets are doing.." sung over and over again until more was added to it, eventually it became Poets as we heard it on an album...that's what we're looking for, obscure references that developed into songs...check out the Let's Gather 'Round The Fan early discs for clarification...
