New Arcade Fire - Douglas - 01-02-2007

With a few new songs being leaked I thought it was time to get excited about this.

The name of the new disk is Neon Bible and is rumoured to drop in late March.

2 new songs on the album for sure are Intervention and Black Wave/Bad Vibrations. Apparently Intervention was supposed to be released as a single for charity but Merger accidently uploaded Black Wave instead.

Live shows in Montreal and London sold out instantly. 5 shows in each city with all the venues holding under 800 people. Tickets for 5 New York shows go on sale Jan. 5th.

Great band, hope they play Halifax someday. They could probably sellout the Bell Centre on multiple nights.

I really dig these guys. I think they're one of the most original and interesting bands this country has ever produced, and hopefully they'll be around for a long time to come. Can't wait to hear the new record!

Just an FYI though 'No Cars Go' appeared on their first EP so it probably won't be on this new album. Great tune though.

On the Us Kids Know website it said that No Cars Go was being re-recorded and they got a grant to make a video for it. Thought it was strange too but it is a wicked tune. Love Regine's pink gloves and matching socks. That accordian is heavier than her I think.

First official single is out called Black Mirror. Reminds me of Rebellion but darker and spookier. Great of course.

I just heard this on the radio today and then searched for it when I got home. This is a pretty cool cover of Keep the Car Running by the Foo Fighters from a couple of weeks ago
