The Hip at HOB for NYE 2006. It looks like tickets are $145. Great, The Hip are playing Chicago when I'm back in Canada for Christmas. Hopefully they'll swing through again in the spring.

For a second there it crossed my mind to make the trip down, but $145 bucks, thats outrageous.
Maybe the Hip will be playing for 5 hours!!

Living in Kansas City, Missouri, I'm just starved enough of live Hip to make the trip and shell out the $145 (plus the $14 service charge).
For that price, I'm assuming they'll break out "Emperor Penguin" *and* "Get Back Again."

Yikes! My girlfriend and I had talked about going to this show, but that's a wee bit expensive for us.
Maybe MAv can share some more details that will make the cost a little more palatable. I had also heard that they are playing with Los Lobos, but I don't see that listed on TicketBastard.
It does say that the performance begins at 9:00PM - so that bodes well for a long show... 3+ hours to make it past midnight.

Expensive yes but I can't of a better way to cap off a kickin' Hip year.
The Moncton Rolling Stones show was about $100 and the Hip only got to play about 70 mins. Yeah that's a little cost justification there. :-)
