The Dixie Chicks Concert in Vancouver.... - opiated - 11-09-2006
...blew my mind..what a great show..an amazing band they've got, and the energy was out of the world...for about 15 minutes before they even got on stage the crowd were doing the wave and getting louder, and louder..it was so contagious...the Chicks hit the stage to the music of "hail to the chief" which was quite funny...they sounded so fucking good..i was blown away by their stage presence, and how incredible natalie maines sounds live...when i die, i want my angel to sound like her!! she had some pretty funny things to say about the election, and rumsfeld stepping down...best line of the night.."nobody likes a nasty bush"..if you EVER get a chance to see them live, DO IT!! :thumb:

My wife went to the show in Calgary and said it was fantastic. I enjoy thier music but couldnt bring myself to pay over $100 for a ticket.
Pretty sure the "nasty Bush" line came from a sign at the Calgary show. Natilie apparently liked the sign so much she got it passed up onto stage, made a comment of how it was the best sign of the tour and sang the rest of the encore with it on stage before taking it with her backstage.

I dont like george bush but their whole "We hate George Bush routine" is pretty tired.

Not sure what the blonde girl's name is...not Natalie but the other one...but when they were in Ottawa a few years back I met with her backstage and she gave me a guitar pick that she used and we pounded back a few shots of JD...not very lady like but it was good times nonetheless. All in all it was a memorable night...my buddy still says I shit the bed on that one...he figures I blew my chance with her. They sure had a sweet bus!!!

I took my wife to the Top of The World tour when they hit Edmonton, 5th row on the floor in the round. I'm not a huge fan of Country pop, but I must say that I was impressed with the talent of those 3 chicks, especially the banjo player, she rocked....better than the little inbred kid in Deliverance.
Highlight for me was Truth#4, loved the nazi book burning footage alongside of the dixie chick cd stomping on the vid screen.
Wasn't able to see them last weekend, spent all my money on hip tix!
Good to hear the chicks are still plucking away.
