Total Record Sales? - Naga - 10-31-2006

I know someone is going to get on my case about not searching, but I did, and I couldn't find this, even though I KNOW it's out there somewhere.

Does anyone have the number of records each Hip album sold? It doesn't matter about the EP or World Container, I just need the amount each other album sold. It's for a project.

Just to clarify, the Gold certification means albums shipped to stores, not necessarily albums sold...

WC sold 27,000 first week, 11,000 in the second week. The new sales figures come out tomorrow.

i can't believe these numbers are that low! the US really needs to get their head out of their ass and buy some hip albums

I just stated(different thread) that the hip makes me proud to be Canadian, but what I didn't add was that I am also a US citizen...you would think that with the amount of crap that americans buy the hip would be selling 100 times this amount! alas perhaps it is best to keep them all to ourselves...

To be honest, and it's been said many times before, I don't think the band really cares about the U.S. market anymore...they know what they are, and they're happy with that.

Just a numbers update: World Container sold 6,700 copies in Week 3, bringing the total to approx. 45,000 to date in Canada -- it slipped from No. 3 to No. 7.

I'm glad the hip doesn't care about "making it" in the US. What I meant was americans have such buying power that they will buy millions of copies of pathetic excuses for talent. A band like the hip ought to be sellings millions of copies of each album...good thing they don't know any better, let them make 50 cent rich...

Almost 6.5 million in album sales is quite good considering that is mostly the Canadian market. I think that is a very good number.

The main stream music scene is so screwed up right now (see: boy bands, 'Idol', reality stars, & Paris Hilton) that real, meaningful music just doesn't matter right now. Who knows, maybe the early 90's music scene will regenerate.

I'm sure WC's numbers will go up a bit when the big arena tour starts. Have they released a 2nd single yet? I don't listen to the radio at all, so I have no idea what they're playing. But album sales tend to go up when a single does really well.
