Rude People - jen - 06-27-2003

Sorry, I have to vent. WHY do people have to be rude to other people for no reason? :rambo: I mean, life is short enough, so why be that way? I make it a point to make other people happy, and go out of my way to make someone's day. That is why it burns me up when someone is so rude to me or anyone else that is undeserving, for that matter. UGH!!! WHY?? Do any of you have 'rude' stories to tell? How did you handle the situation?
I have a hard time of letting things go, I get so frustrated, as you can see. So, if you feel like it, share your experiences, it will probably make my situation feel like nothing at all

I guess it's kinda common these days to be rude. And accepted more or less. But like you, I hate it. And when I notice that my kids are rude, they're in trouble.. and they know.

And when some one is rude to me, I act very, very polite. Too polite Wink
and it works every time..

I can't stand rude people either Jen, they really piss me off. Its especially the small things that get to me, things people don't even seem to notice anymore. Like saying please and thank you in a store or greeting a busdriver when you get on the bus. Things like that. Letting people get off the train before you push your way in, not throwing litter on the ground when there's a trash can 2 metres away, not walking around in a non-smoking section with a cigarette..stupid simple things like that.

Of course I've also experienced real rudeness. I used to work in a store at the airport. Lots of chaos, passengers hurrying to catch a plane etc. They'd come into the store for a magazine or a newspaper and sometimes things would go wrong. The cash register would bail on us or we'd run out of something and would have to get it in the stock room , no drama.. all it required sometimes was a little bit of patience from the customers but you should have heard the things some people had the nerve to say...they would get really personal when there was nothing I could do to change the situation. Bunch of punks.

The most annoying thing about it, is that nobody has the guts nowadays to confront rude people with their rude behaviour. I'll admit, I'm a chicken when it comes to that too. I get scared aswell, nobody wants to get their ass kicked over something so stupid but at the same time its crazy that we let people dictate our lives like that.
Reminds me of this time when I was in the movies, a couple of months ago. I was there with some family members and in the row behind us there was this group of young kids and their mom I think. You'd expect the kids to be the rude ones but they were pretty much decent, the mom was the horrible one. Talking all the way through the movie, laughing, making rude comments ... it was so infuriating! :x

Whats the world coming to? Sad

Ok enough of a rant..

I hate when people dont say thank you when you hold the dorr for them. What I do is say really loud while glaring at them, YOUR WELCOME!

I also hate when you let someone in, in trafic and they don't raise their hand to say thank-you. Really frustrating. How hard is it to raise your damn hand in the air for 1 second. AHHH!

YES ! God that gets on my nerves , "Don't wave you f*@*!*#* bastard . " Not to mention the door opening thing , like Danny said , I mean is it that hard to say thanks ? I might have said "you're welcome ." So anyways i'll keep opening doors and letting in people in traffic so I don't become what I despise .
