That's right! You can get 2 tickets, row 1, level 300(upper level) for $135 including charges...but if you want the cheap seats you will have to move up to row #12 and they will cost you $110, and, if you are RICH, well then, those tickets cost $175 per pair.
I am not selling tickets here but just merely pointing out the fact that TTH have, for some strange reason, started to offer tiered ticket prices to some venues on this tour. This is new news, from a band who, for a long time, proudly played into the 1 ticket for our show is 1 price only theme. So why tier the ticket prices in Toronto and Hamilton...is it because we make more money if we live in these areas? Why is Barrie only $120 per pair and that is for 1st row to last row?
So I am forced to the cheap seats cause that's what my budget allows me. Sure I will still see one of the best bands play live on the planet, but I'm just a tad upset cause I now don't get the same opportunity to sit up close. I am forced to the back of the venue cause of the tiered ticket pricing scheme, and because I can't afford to sit up close.
The kids don't get it.

If you really wanted to you would make the necessary sacrifices. I haven't been paid in 6 weeks ( motorcycle crash) and I didn't let that stop me from getting 3rd center floor!

please reread my post...my point is about the band tiering ticket prices and has really nothing to do with me complaining that i'm poor.
btw i beleive the tiered prices for hamilton and toronto was indeed the band's doing...perhaps swayed by the promoter(which is a damn shame)

I'm no expert, but I would think that the venue's fee is just a bit more at the ACC than say the Barrie Molson Centre. So if they were going to do one price for every seat at the ACC, it would have to be more than the other shows. Take a look at other upcoming concerts at the ACC:
Rascal Flatts - all tickets $70
Elton John - $49-$149
Bob Dylan - $39-$85
Guns N' Roses - $35-$85
The Who $57-$202
Looking at those, prices for The Hip at $39-$75 seem pretty well in line with the market to me. And there's also the fact that because of the tiered pricing, they are able to offer some tickets for $39, which is LESS than every seat in Barrie.

That's fine, but all I'm saying is if the Toronto show didn't have tiered prices, it would probably be at least $60-65 for every seat. Tiered pricing allows for accessibility to a larger group of fans by making some tickets available at far less than what would be charged if it was one price for every seat. Plus, it just makes sense. Why should someone with tickets in row 16 of level 300 have to pay as much as someone on the floor?

I live in Halifax. We are NOT getting a show. There are no shows within a 20 hour drive from me. I will not be seeing htem on the tour at all, let alone in a tiered-seating arena. Please enjoy your tickets, wherever you are sitting, at whatever cost you choose to pay. At least you get to see them.

...didn't stop 10,000 people from showing up at the Bluesfest in 2004...even if half of them were from out of town, it would still be enough people to sell out the arena...
and that's BS, because Phantom Power was MASSIVELY popular in the nickle city...they sold the arena out that tour as well...and i think IBE and the 2004 Bluesfest appearance will help the turnout this time around too.
