Any chance on another Ontario show before x-mas? - Gibie - 09-11-2006

Hey all...
I know that according to all of the places I have looked there are no more Ontario shows planned. But, is there any chance that the HIP might play in Ontario between now and x-mas? With the new album, would they be touring at all this fall... or am I just going to have to wait till the spring to see the hip live again?

I've been to 2 shows this summer... and I want a third! Smile

Any insight would be appreciated.

I'd say that there will be some Ontario shows announced to promote the new album if history has taught us anything...

Given the October release date, I doubt they would just sit back and hope it sells it self, Im expecting a cross-canada winter arena tour with the usual stops. Which is fine but I hope they decide to include some not so often stops like London and others again. Thats a best guess, unless they decide change things up a bit and do a big U.S tour first to get the promotion train rolling. Either way I get the feeling they will tour WC heavily until late next year, so Im sure they'll becoming your/our way sooner or later.

I know its hard waiting for shows to happen, I hate that too! :jump

Not trying to de-rail this thread, but since you asked. I think Im just starting to outgrow the place, Ive been here almost 30 years and I just feel like a change of scenery, and to meet new people. There's things I hate about London, but it will always be home. Thankfully my work allows me to transfer anywhere in Canada. Now its just deciding where to go?

Plus my wife hates it here, and a unhappy wife is never a good thing!!

haah cool... ya I didn't mean to derail the thread... so say they did an across Canada tour for the new album... what are the "usual" stops?

Halifax/Montreal/Ottawa/Kingston/Toronto/Winnipeg/Calgary/Vancouver??

Sarnia, London, Toronto, anywhere in southern Ontario would/will be great. As long as its close, I do my very best to get there.

well, as i mentioned in another thread on here...they might be doing 2 shows at the Mod Club in Toronto early October, probably around the new release time!
and ya, i can't wait either for a new batch of tour dates in the area!!

Ontario? Well...I guess they've only played 5 shows in Ontario this summer...

Do you guys realize how lucky you are to be able to see your favorite band that often???

Try living in Regina, Saskatchewan...or for that matter, anywhere in the prairies!!! As others have mentioned, we're getting very close to a 2 year drought between concerts. :-(

Exactly. F**k Ontario. It's time for the band to come out west.

I can't wait for anything out west here. Anything in Edmonton/Calgary/Vancouver I'm hitting. Since I'm back in my hometown, my vote is for a gig here (a bit of a pipe dream but hey, they have played here twice).

Regardless, major centres out in these parts is a given for me as well as a couple fellow Hipsters I know of.
