Stephen Colbert Bridge - Shane Kroeker - 08-17-2006

Stephen Colbert of The Colbert Report has issued all fans of the Colbert Report to vote for his name in effort of being honored with a bridge in Hungary. Here's Colbert's message and link to vote at http://www.colbertnation.com
Quote:Hey Nation! If you haven’t already, head on over to this site and cast your vote for the Stephen Colbert Bridge (which I guess is “Stephen Colbert Hid” in Hungarian)! You guys if they name this bridge after Stephen I’m totally going to fly there and walk over it!
Do your part and vote for The Stephen Colbert Hid!

It's officially surpassed the Chuck Norris Bridge!

I like that show.

Stephen Colbert is the man!

Voted already.

Lots of times.

Too many?

Last time I checked, the votes were frozen, and no one was gaining any, probably because of the efforts of the Nation.

- Shane Kroeker - 08-23-2006

Over 17 Million Votes.
That's how many Stephen Colbert has in effort to have this bridge named after him. Colbert is now easily at number 1, and as he said it best: "We have 7 million more votes than the population of the country of Hungary!". Apparently the Hungarian website has now changed its voting regulations to make voters register everytime before casting their votes. It looks as though the bridge will be named after Stephen Colbert, barring some enormous upset by Chuck Norris, or a Hungarian voting scandal, in which they refuse to name the bridge after him.

Best line from last night's show: "The Stephen Colbert Hid -- which I think means 'bridge' ... it's all over the site."

if you're not watching Colbert, you're missing, like, five or six laugh out loud moments per night.
