computer help...dvd burning - clutchcdn - 07-23-2006

Hey guys.....

just got a dvd burner....and I cant burn some tv shows that i downloaded.
"unrecgonized file format" shows up sometimes when I try and open the file to burn it in NERO.

can anyone help me out with this? or direct me to somewhere on the net that can?

in particular....alias season 3, only plays in Real Player. But I want to burn it to dvd so I can use it in dvd player.

what format are the files in? what kind of format are you trying to burn?

More often than not, video files (like music files) are compressed before shared on the internet, to speed up the sharing process. Compressions like DivX, or XviD, are quite popular video compression formats, but you may have to add the codec to your computer, in order for it to recognize the compressed video.

I've found many answers to my video questions at http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/ They have "how to" guides for most video projects, and a forum where users can ask questions.
