"Gord innovates again. All Gord Downie & The Country Of Miracles shows will be recorded and made available for download within a week of the shows."
Anybody know anything about this? It's been over a week and still no news. I realize that it's still the start of the tour and there's lots of time left, I just hope that it's still planned.
It dosn't look like he'll be touring anywhere near me this summer so this will be my only chance at hearing their live stuff.

We'll its been over a week and half since the gorddownie.com website has been updated and that was just news of a vancouver show. No setlists or road photos or the mention of the canadian landmine benefit that took place was on his site, or the 11th fret video , and I&I news. It could be just like the hip.com and not be updated very often at all but hopefully by next week the lees palace show is on the net , as well :
"Bonus Live Tracks"After you pick up your copy of Battle of the Nudes go to the website address listed on the CD case to download exclusive live material recorded on Gord's last solo tour."
Give it some time royce im sure once the tour really gets kicked off on june 19th there should be more activity

That's what I figure too. It's too bad that they're not more on top of the web sites and mailing lists for both wienerart.net and thehip.com though. I'm used to getting info from bands first and then through the regular media, but this has not been the case when it comes to all things hip. Oh well, the music's what really matters anyway.

Hey Royce , in reference to Downie not coming out west this album , I was thinking that between the July 26th , Texas show and the Aug 31 Vancouver gig , there are no new tour dates announced . That's a full month in which he can hit Cowtown and Edmonton and hopefully tie it in with the Vancouver show . I just can't see him hitting Texas , and not making it to Alberta , to say the least that would be disappointing .

That’s true there is a lot of time in there. Just seems strange to mention all the U.S. dates on a concert t-shirt followed with Vancouver. I’m still hoping he comes through town though, it sounds like he’s putting on a good show these days. I’m actually going to be in Toronto at the beginning of July but I’ll miss the July 4th show by a day.
I can’t complain really, I saw him twice last time around. I’d love to go see him again though and hear a version of tonight’s the night. I love that song. :thumb:
Here's hoping he comes through town.

well...
after the lee's palace show, my friend and i had a chance to talk with dr. pee and he said there is a huge list of dates that the band got. he says they are mostly all marked with "tentative, confirmed, confirmed, tentative, confirmed, not to be announced, tentative, tentative..."
he mentioned a new orleans show specifically, but thats all. he said they are touring well into september, and thats when the tour will end.

I'm hoping he comes to Winnipeg for a solo show...I don't know why he wouldn't, it's still one of the best Hip markets in Canada and I'm sure he would draw really well here.
