It's funny what you come across when you're really bored and you have nothing but Google searches to amuse yourself with. Check out this incredibly retro interview with Gord and Rob (aka Bobby) from the NOIS video shoot. While you're there, you might want to check out the Gulf War protest video too.

I gotta believe if "Sue Alexander" saw that today, she would be kicking herself! "If the Hip are to be successful, they will have to work on the originality of their music. I had a hard time discerning what was original and what were cover tunes." Oh my! :roll:

And to hear Gord actually use the phrase "that's the way the cookie crumbles" was just priceless!

I think the review is a bit of a howl but not that shocking.

I remember a friend of mine turning down backstage passes to see the Hip (I used to work at a music store, so things like that came my way every now and then). She said that, in her opinion, in a couple of years I would be embarassed to admit that I'd been to a Hip show. I can't say that she was in the minority on that opinion, either.

Ofcourse, everyone was scrambling to get tickets when ARA came through town.

That was interesting, I had no idea the video was filmed at the U of C's MacEwan hall.

That's kind of like saying, "I had never heard their record, and I never really listen to much other music either, so basically I didn't recognize anything."

Nice find! It actually inspired me to my first-ever, two-post day. Gotta love the way she throws that shot in at the end without even asking the band about it. Yeah. That was weird, wasn't it? I don't remember the Hip playing any covers when I saw them around the same time. Granted, I wasn't in any condition to remember much, but still....

This was found by some other Hipbaser a while ago, and I contacted the school about it. They sent me a DVD of this interview that will be included on an upcoming Hipfans.com Grab Bag DVD.
