Lee's Palace June 7th - thehip11 - 06-08-2003
Just got back from Lee's Palace. This was my first true Gord solo experience. I highly recommend anyone to check Gord out if he's in your area. The music really comes alive when you see it up and close. Alan Pigguns and Nathan Wiley were great bands as well. Well chosen opening acts for Gord. As for Gord's set, this is what I remember in no particular order:
Into the Night
Figment
Christmastime in Toronto
Elaborate
Chancellor
Trick Rider
Vancouver Divorce
Canada Geese
SF Song
Yer Possessed
Steeplechase
11th Fret
Pascal's Submarine (Played so much faster and harder then the album version)
Who By Rote
We're Hardcore
Pillform #3 "You may have heard of Pillform 1 and 2, well this is Pillform 3"
Encore:
Insomniacs of the World Good Night
Tonight's the Night (Neil Young Cover)

I must admit, that was something. I have not seen Gord solo before either, and I was truly blown away.
I HIGHLY recommend seeing him when he comes your way.
I was very impressed with his guitar playing but even more impressed with his singing. He sounded great!
My highlight of the evening was "Tonight's the Night". WOW did that sound terrific.
Again, I can't say enough about the whole experience.
Cheers,
Mats.

Wow what a excellent show!
I am not really good at posting reviews but...
The show was great really small at lees! I had never been there before, It was sooooooo hot in there I felt like I was going to pass out!
I espically enjoyed chancellor and Van Divorce!
I love chancellor so much it was great to hear it Live! I loved gord's voice on steeplechase, wow I was mesmerized!
I was a little annoyed that Lee's wouldn't serve ceasers though!!!
