Memorial Cup - sean.bonner - 05-28-2006

Anybody planning on watching/attending the game? I think it should be a great one. I'm excited :jump

- emperor penguin - 05-28-2006

I'll probably watch it on T.V. Go Moncton, as much as I like Patrick Roy, I never like seeing the team that didn't win their league championship win the Mem Cup. Should be a good game

The building should be going nuts. I'm actually heading off to Moncton, because I was invited this morning to head up (the Moosehead friend!). I can't wait for some decent Q hockey. Lord knows we don't get it with the Saint John Sea Dogs.

I made it to two games last year, including the final. Moncton actually has a lot to live up to -- London was a hell of a party last year.

Cheers,

Pat

how about Roy...won the cup in 86 and 96, and now the memorial cup in 2006...attn: NHL onwers: hire Patrick Roy for 2016 season !

edit: i cracked the St. Patrick Code!

33 = 3 + 3 = 6

- schaggs - 05-29-2006

And Patrick Roy's biggest year is yet to come. Look for him to do something huge in 2066, the same year he turns 101.

- opiated - 05-29-2006

he's been nothing but a prick this entire tourney..

- Gangrel - 05-29-2006

Yeah, I never liked him in the NHL, and now as a coach he's doing the same thing. He's an arrogant, selfish SOB, and now he's "teaching" 16 year olds the same behaviours.......

I lost a tonne of respect for him. One could adequately call him a "douche".

- The Darkest Canuck - 05-29-2006

he's always been this way, he just has more interview time now that he's a coach rather than a player so it seems like he's a bigger prick now, that or he's becoming more full of himseflf with each new accomplishment...anyway, no matter what, you gotta give him a lot of respect for winning the mem cup in his first year of coaching...and there's no denying he's the greatest goaltender OF ALL TIME.

Terry Sawchuk, Glen Hall, Martin Brodeur, Eddie Giacomin, Tony Esposito, Ken Dryden, Dominik Hasek, and Jacques Plante may be looking up your address right now.

And also Ron Hextall.

That last one's a joke.

I don't care, because I SPEAK THE TRUTH! Patrick Roy is still my hockey hero, for how he played, not who he is as a person...the main reason being that he stopped the almight "Great One" in the 93 Cup finals when i was a wee lad...not only is he the greatest Goalie ever, he's one of the greatest players ever.

I agree that he's the best goalie ever and he is my favourite hockey player ever. He talked alot but he always backed it up. He always came through in the clutch and when he recognized that he wasn't the same player he once was he hung up the skates at the right time. Now he coaches a team to a Memorial Cup championship, and big deal if he said other goalies for other teams weren't up to the challenge or were playing over their head, his goalie played great and by him saying that it probably threw those other goalies off their game even more. It was so awesome when he responded to Jeremy Roenick by saying he couldn't hear him because he had 2 Stanley Cup rings clogging his ears, and then he went out and won 2 more and Roenick still has none.
